Hi,
I've got Gentoo 1.2 installed and working. I've been working through the desktop setup instructions from the Documentation section of the website and most things are working without problem. Except sound...
I've got alsa loading and working happily. I can aplay the pop sound.
devfs is loading correctly (at least I don't get any errors during boot) and the config files are as per the instructions. However, when starting KDE I get warnings about /dev/dsp not being found. When I do and ls, it appears that the device does not exist.
Isn't the devfsd supposed to create this device when booting up? Why don't I get anything? I also don't seem to have an /etc/init.d/devfsd script.
Anyone able to help? (Please) |
