adesklets the Gentoo way?

Hi All,

I've emerged adesklets, but don't really know how to get on from here (other than manually downloading desklets?). I ran adesklets_installer, selected a desklet, hit return and then waited for ever for the desklet to download. Well, nothing much happened. Am I supposed to run the installer as root?

Any hints would be much appreciated.
