Hallo,
nach einem Festplattencrash durfte ich Gentoo neu installieren, d.h. es lief mit meiner Hardware bisher ohne Probleme.
Jetzt allerdings fehlt mir das CD-Rom hdc, in /dev und /dev/cdroms ist kein Eintrag enthalten, bin etwas ratlos, wie installiere ich die Gerätedatei ? MAKEDEV hat mir bisher nicht geholfen. Das CDrom wird übrigens beim Bootvorgang als hdc erkannt.

Siehst Du Dein CD-Rom in /proc/ide/? Läuft Dein devfsd?

ja, in /proc/ide ist es enthalten
bash-2.05b# ls
drivers hda hdb hdc ide0 ide1 via
und devfsd läuft auch
bash-2.05b# ps -ax | grep devfsd
34 ? S 0:00 /sbin/devfsd /dev |

Noch ein paar Ansätze:
Ist /dev richtig gemountet?
| Code: | | none on /dev type devfs (rw) |
Hast Du im Kernel devfs Support eingeschaltet?
Hast Du Dein System "normal" installiert (mit der Gentoo CD) oder eine Kopie eingespielt?

läuft jetzt, Fehler lag bei mir, hatte in der Kernelconfig IDE-Support deaktiviert da ich damals hier Probleme hatte, dein Tip mit "Kernel devfs" hat mich auf den Weg gebracht, danke  |
