Hi Guys,
Just wondering if anyone has got BlueDevil running on their system, I've managed to pair my headphones but unable to route the audio through to them, anyone been successful with it? Guessing the project is pretty new as there isn't any documentation out at the moment, if you're interested in try it, it's located in the rion overlay.

what's the diff with net-wireless/kbluetooth?

It's only in rion overlay at the moment (use layman to add it), kbluetooth was developed by the same guy I believe, bluedevil is the successor to it, check out the homepage to bluedevil here

found it in a kde overlay

Let me know how you get on with it, I've only managed to send files to my phone.. Tried connecting a wiimote to it but it could only find it on a scan, when it came to bonding to it via a pin, it fails.

Sound interesting - I've been looking for a decent bluetooth applet in KDE4 (and kbluetooth is just crap....)
I give it a try, when I am back at my gentoo system. |

Thought I'll post an update on how I went with this... I managed to get my headphones paired and route audio to them, had to install Pulseaudio for that. The only issue I have now is bluedevil asking me for a pin everytime I turn my headphones on, hopefully this will be solved in future.

I also want to try this bluedevil program, but I even can't install it due to obex* blocks:

Ah, I have trouble selecting the audio sink (A2DP) mode of my headset. I know I should be able to select it using pulseaudio, but I can't get kde & pulseaudio to play nice. I've had some feedback in another post, but am still trying to get it working. What steps dit you take?

Hi,
I just put the pulseaudio flag into my make.conf, rebuilt the system with emerge world --newuse, you have to be using a certain version of KDE4 for kmixer to adjust itself for pulseaudio (can't remember which version but I had it working on at least 4.5.3). Restart KDE and you should notice that kmixer is different to how it was before.
I then installed pavucontrol to set the headphones to A2DP as it was on HSP which results in poor quality, you can go into KDE systemsettings, Multimedia, Phonon and set the preference for output devices, this way the audio will be routed to headphones once sinked.
