Helo,

Why emerge is showing blocked or unsatisfied packages one by one?? can't it show all together so user just know everything in one command not in many the same?? In that case it can make our life just simplier :)

Code:

[13:35:19] tmp # emerge -DuNpv world

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating world dependencies \
emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy ">=media-sound/xmms-1.2.4".
(dependency required by "media-plugins/xmms-smpeg-0.3.5-r1" [installed])

!!! Problem resolving dependencies for media-plugins/xmms-smpeg
!!! Depgraph creation failed.
[13:35:33] tmp # emerge -C media-plugins/xmms-smpeg-0.3.5-r1

 media-plugins/xmms-smpeg
    selected: 0.3.5-r1
   protected: none
     omitted: none

 * GNU info directory index is up-to-date.

Because xmms has been removed from the Portage tree. Don't quote me on it, but I think it was unmaintained upstream, because it was deprecated by xmms2. :wink:

[DUP] for (at least) "XMMS is out. so whats in ?", "Whither XMMS? [SOLVED]" and "Is this a sign for things to come? [XMMS Removal]" and many others like them.

-> moved to Duplicate Threads
