Ciao a tutti,
ho appena aggiornato portage (il che mi ha anche richiesto di aggiornare gettext e core-utils...)...tutto apposto, ma lanciando update-eix (che va a buon termine in ogni caso) ricevo questo prompt:

Ho altri pacchetti alsa, ma alsa driver proprio no...

Garbage è l'immondizia.
Il nome del pacchetto contiene immondizia alla fine, dopo il numero di versione. Questo può dare fastidio ai programmi che analizzano il database di portage (compreso eix). Non ha importanza, dunque, che tu lo abbia installato o meno.

che per la cronaca è sconsigliato, con le ultime versioni del kernel.
le ultime versioni hanno driver più stabili e un'interfaccia verso il driver audio parzialmente INCOMPATIBILE con il pacchetto alsa-drivers.
dato che non esiste motivo sensato per usare alsa-drivers è meglio toglierlo e usare i driver del kernel |

sì, ma il fatto in questione non dipende dall'avere o meno installato alsa-driver. Il problema è quel fantasioso numero di versione che hanno messo che eix riconosce come spazzatura quando va ad aggiornare il proprio database.

Non mi pare sia un "problema", eix dà solamente un messaggio di avviso, ma la cache viene comunque aggiornata, e tutto funziona!
Comunque il giorno che verrà rimosso quella versione "strana" il problema non si presenterà più!
