I'm trying to emerge ati-drivers to a 32-bit chroot environment, on a 64-bit box. I need this to have OpenGL acceleration in the 32-bit chroot environment. As the libGL.so files are supplied by the ati-drivers package, I figured this is the way to go.

When doing the emerge, I get into the following error:

Code:

obviously this is a conflict between the 32-bit and the 64-bit environments.

how could someone solve this issue? or make OpenGL acceleration work in the 32-bit chroot env?

what is strange here is that emerge tries to work on the 64-bit packages:

Code:

# emerge ati-drivers
Calculating dependencies... done!

>>> Emerging (1 of 1) x11-drivers/ati-drivers-8.32.5 to /
 * ati-driver-installer-8.32.5-x86.x86_64.run MD5 ;-) ...                 [ ok ]
 * ati-driver-installer-8.32.5-x86.x86_64.run RMD160 ;-) ...              [ ok ]
 * ati-driver-installer-8.32.5-x86.x86_64.run SHA1 ;-) ...                [ ok ]
 * ati-driver-installer-8.32.5-x86.x86_64.run SHA256 ;-) ...              [ ok ]
 * ati-driver-installer-8.32.5-x86.x86_64.run size ;-) ...                [ ok ]
 * checking ebuild checksums ;-) ...                                      [ ok ]
 * checking auxfile checksums ;-) ...                                     [ ok ]
 * checking miscfile checksums ;-) ...                                    [ ok ]
 * checking ati-driver-installer-8.32.5-x86.x86_64.run ;-) ...            [ ok ]

even though we're in the 32-bit environment:

Code:

# emerge --info

seems like I have left the amd64 USE flag in there when creating the 32-bit chroot environment.

removing this flag made it all work.

well, at the end the ati-driver package did install, the OpenGL acceleration still doesn't work, even though the ATI driver is selected:

Code:

$ fglrxinfo
ERROR: DDX driver fingerprint mismatch: got 0xB280C1BB, but expected 0x3E32B6A8
libGL error: InitDriver failed
display: :0.0  screen: 0
OpenGL vendor string: Mesa project: www.mesa3d.org
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa GLX Indirect
OpenGL version string: 1.2 (1.5 Mesa 6.5.1)
$ ls -l /usr/lib/libGL.so
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 32 Mar 16 17:10 /usr/lib/libGL.so -> /usr/lib/opengl/ati/lib/libGL.so
$ eselect opengl list
Available OpenGL implementations:
  [1]   ati *
  [2]   xorg-x11

what's going wrong?

Could anybody help me?
