Hi,
I've locked my screen which was booted with the Gentoo LiveCD and don't know the gentoo user password.
I can't unlock my screen now.
Was just wondering what the default password is for this user.
TIA

it's auto-generated and scrambled every time on boot. you'll never be able to retrieve it.

sorry

Oh! boy,
I was running the install in the background. Now I'll have to reinstall again. :(

nope!

you do need to reboot though. you can mount, chroot, env-update/source, then resume from where you left off.

cheers

I guess I'll be the one to ask the stupid question...why? LiveCDs can be very handy as rescue disks and it seems kind of silly to make users jump through silly hoops like Ubuntu.
