|
|
so it has been a long time since i have built a gentoo machine with sound. the other day a friend wanted to try Gentoo and i told them i would install it for them. after the install and getting alsa setup and working, i went to install xmms and as i am sure you all know, it wasn't in portage.
is there something that is a good replacement for xmms? i really don't want to build all the kde libs to run amarok- and i would like something that is a little cooler then some of the text based mp3 players i tried. what is out there that fits between these?
i did search the forums some but didn't seem to find anything- if i missed something, flame on.
thank you. |

Hello
Xmms is indeed deprecated. Personally I use audacious instead (on amd64). |
