Hi all,
I can see quite a lot of posts regarding problems getting either ati-drivers (fglrx) or the radeon drivers working properly.
I have a Dell 610 running 2.6.18 kernel and 8.27.10-r1 ati-drivers. fglrx is running and I don't have any problems. However on my other Dell 610 I am unable to get it working with the latest kernel 2.6.19 and 8.32.5 ati-drivers.
I don't really need or want 3d support.
Can anyone suggest the best way to get this up and running? X won't run no matter what I try. I have tried both fglrx and radeon drivers with no luck at all.
Thanks alot!!

Are you sure both laptops have the same graphics hardware? I understand that some D610s don't use ati, but an intel chip instead.
It will probably go with the vesa driver (but you won't get native resolution of 1400x1050, so it won't be so sharp).
Have you tried the ati driver?
And have you tried this howto? |

It's the ati driver that I'm using. It works well, even for beryl. |
