|
|
My VIA C3 laptop (Ezra-T) with integrated ProSavage DDR graphics recently (I think ever since I came back to Gentoo after installing Windows) has been crashing on mplayer (1.0 rc1) -vo xvidix or cvidix. On xvidix, it manages to open a window before nothing is displayed and it promptly closes as MPlayer reports a crash in the console.
Here's the output for xvidix:
| Code: | vidixlib: '/usr/lib/mplayer/vidix/savage_vid.so'successfully loaded
[VO_SUB_VIDIX] Description: Savage/ProSavage/Twister vidix.

Does anybody know what's wrong? My CFLAGS are
CFLAGS="-O2 -march=c3 -pipe -mmmx -m3dnow"
I even downloaded MPlayer by myself and compiled it with --enable-debug. It still crashed. Does anybody know how I can solve this? This is the only way I can get smooth 640x360 video scaled to my resolution of 800x450 (800x600 with black bars), otherwise I have to use the software scaler, which on the C3 is slow. _________________ When you are clever, you realize you are stupid; when you are stupid, you realize you are clever. |

| Um, might help if you take a look at the X11 logs in /var/log/. Also, it seems that if you are running Xorg 7.1, then Xv might be the problem. Make sure that you update to the latest version of the savage driver, there were several major bug fixes that happened about the end of September, that are only in the latest testing version of the savage driver. |

Hmm.. there is no difference in my /var/log/Xorg.0.log when mplayer crashes.
BTW, I'm using xvidix, not xv... but I'll try compile a new version of xorg-x11 when I can. Will it help? _________________ When you are clever, you realize you are stupid; when you are stupid, you realize you are clever. |
