I need some help with scim it wont work correctly

Hello,

I am trying to get scim to work but for some reason when I go to press the ctrl+space it wont enable its features I am not sure as to what I could be missing but if anyone out there uses it with japanese and could possibly help me get it working. I would be very happy.

Currently running Fluxbox 1.0rc2-gentoo-r2 and gentoo is basicly up todate. scim will start up as a daemon but wont enable. I can go into it and change configuration and such.

If any other information is needed just let me know or if you want me to check something.
