|
|
Hello All.
I have an old Riva Tnt 2 card with 32 MB of display memory.
I have currently installed the NVdia 43 drivers
My problem is the NVdia drivers, which seem to corrupt the display buffer (I think its not flushed when I logout of X). So suppose I am watching a movie, finish it and log out of X. Instead of a nice VT, my whole screen turns into dark green slime, with some random image from the movie barely visible behind the green.
Even if I do get the normal VT, the cursor gets the green treatment and turns into a small green rectangle.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Try the 3123 drivers. I have an old rivaTNT and it works fine with those. |

I have tried the old 31 drivers and they are the same. I upgraded hoping the newer ones would sole the problem.
Or maybe the Matrix did get me.....In which case you automated reply bots are going to studiously ignore my problem.

I had this similar issue with my riva tnt2, i managed to narrow it down to using the nvidia driver for the framebuffer. ( gotta love bootsplashes ).
i fixed it by not using the 'nvidia riva' support under 'console drivers' -> 'Frame Buffer Support' when compiling my kernel.
like i said i still use the frame buffer, just not with the nvidia riva support. i got it to work with the VESA VGA and bootsplash;
i use the newest nvidia drivers in portage so i dont think its that. |
