Since I've upgraded to KDE 3.5.5 my bank url does not work in konqueror any more.
The url is : https://www.txn.banking.pcfinancial.ca
I get :
The same URL works in Opera and firefox. I don't get it. Kinda looks like a DNS problem, but it resolves in the other browsers.
Can someone with 3.5.5 try this in konqueror? Please amuse me. |

No, I don't even get the re-direct. I do see the redirect in firefox and Opera.
I get the above error right away with the link. Weird.
I even tried clearing cache and deleting the cookies, no effect.
I started to get this right away when I upgraded to 3.5.5. |

Does this happen with all https sites? If so, you probably have a broken SSL lib, try emergeing openssl/kdelibs/konqueror again and/or restarting your KDE session. _________________ Game! - Where the stick is mightier than the sword! |

Ya, I even emailed kde people and they said it works for them.
Thanks anyway |

Same problem here. It appears to be linked to the openssl package. Re-emerging bersion 0.9.7 works instantly, and upgrading to 0.9.8 makes Konqueror fail as you described.
I tried "revdep-rebuild"s without success, so I ended up reverting to openssl-0.9.7l:
Code: | echo "=dev-libs/openssl-0.9.8d" >> /etc/portage/package.mask
emerge --oneshot openssl |

An update.
I rebuilt my system from scratch and it's now ok.
No idea. |

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I think I know how jesso could have solved his problem. I faced the exact same problem. The cause? SSLv2 was disabled. Settings->Configure Konqueror->Crypto->Enable SSLv2. Problem solved. |
