|
|
I have installed gentoo with kde 3.5.5 (with flag use hal) with dbus, hal and i have added them in the default runlevel as the gentoo's documentation tell me, i have restarted the system but if I insert pen drive in the pc, mime's control doesn't start and there isn't any icon on the desktop, but in the directory /media the drive is mounted. In the protocol media the drive is not mounted.
In the settings of kde mime's control and icons on desktop are active and hal is up.
I also have installed ivman but when it started appears some errors of dbus.
what can i do to run icon of pen drive on desktop? THANK YOU. |

First thing I would do is remove ivman.
I don't have it and my usb drives automount just fine.
It may be interfering with KDE trying to automount the drives and create the files showing the drives on the desktop and in the media protocol. _________________ jim |

if you want the icons on the desktop you have to go to the control center -> Desktop -> Behaviour -> Device Symbols (3rd Tab) and check the box. That should do it.
