Hi,
as I think it is portage stuff I put it here:
I did unmerge all gnome packages I found with 'qpkg -I -nc gnome >> gnome_pkg.list'
Today in the morning I did an emerge sync and when I tried emerge -upv --deep world he listed me ALL the gnome packages I uninstalled again as "N". and normale emerge -upv world shows only the ones that are really new. Umm, I got a bit surprised, ALL? how that ... Well, now my knowledge is a bit stuck. How can I find out which packages depend on any "gnome" package, or how can I see why he wants to re-emerge ALL gnome packages.

You could try an "emerge depclean" to remove packages that require gnome. _________________ Slackware is Gentoo's bitch. |

I already tried that of course, but it gives me a list of "vital" packages and I just don't want to do this.
would be cool if you could run deplcean on a package way like "USE=gnome emerge depclean" |
