Hi all,

when running gnucash, I get the splash screen and then gnucash crashes with
Code:

This is on ~amd64 and ~x86 with gnucash-2.0.2, guile-1.6.8 and slib-3.1.4. guile and slib have been upgraded recently, gnucash has been running fine since early december. Still, downgrading guile and slib doesn't help.

Can anyone help?

Tom

Same problem here, on ~amd64 (Intel/nocona).

Okay, problem is solved for me by downgrading guile (to 1.6.7) and slib (to 3.1.1). After that, gnucash runs without problems

This fixed things for me, except for lots of error messages like
Quote:
(gnucash:16186): GLib-CRITICAL **: Invalid key name: Book Guid
(gnucash:16186): GLib-CRITICAL **: Invalid key name: Window Count
...
(gnucash:16186): GLib-CRITICAL **: Invalid key name: Register Style
(gnucash:16186): GLib-CRITICAL **: Invalid key name: Double Line Mode

I may have missed them, but I didn't see any of these names when using gconf-editor.

see https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=158673

glib-2.12.7 changes the assertion error to a critical warning in these cases.
HEAD and therefore future stable 2.14 series still has it as an assert, so
gnucash should still fix it upstream.
The conversion to critical warnings was done precisely mostly due to gnucash,
see the upstream bug: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=390532

That helped me too, thank you.

LATER: No fix needed in 2.0.4

All my problems with gnucash are now fixed using the latest unstable versions of all packages which includes dev-scheme/slib-3.1.1-r1, dev-scheme/guile-1.6.8, and app-office/gnucash-2.0.4.

on 2.0.4-r1 I have the same problem, so I masked 2.0.4-r1 and stick with 2.0.4.

For what it's worth, I now have dev-scheme/guile-1.8.1-r1 masked and nothing else (on an unstable amd system). I have filed a bug report connected with it. Guile-1.6.8 still works fine as does gnucash-2.0.4-r1.
