Hello,
I was trying to hunt through the forums for a solution to my DFE-690TXD problem for my laptop.
This is a very cheap ethernet card at Best Buy, so getting it working with gentoo would be very awesome. The first card I picked up(same model) refused to work no matter what). After exchanging this one for a different card (same model), I got it to work, although there were some quirks.
This card refused to work if I had not followed the Windows 2000 installlation instructions verbatim on a functional windows install on this laptop. After getting it to work once in windows 2000, it worked just fine in gentoo. Go figure.
One more thing, the card REFUSES to work if it is installed after the pc is running, it HAD to be in before boot up. Also, before installing it with windows 2000 the drivers had to be pre-installed.
System in question:
Dlink DFE-690TXT (RTL8139 variant) Cardbus PCMCIA ethernet adaptor
Fujitsu Lifebook E330
Current gentoo install using ck-sources with 8139too
Good luck _________________ Jonathan S. Romero
