Greetings,
I'm getting a strange display running GenKernel. Normally the blue character menu display has a border (IBM line graphics) and such. Instead, I have no line graphics, and some black blocks in spaces where the pseudo-window-shadow would be.

This is also the case when running AlsaConf, making me wonder if (SWAGging) a terminal type is set incorrectly or something?

Any help would be appreciated. TIA.
MrM

Same problem here. The same "special FX" in Midnight Commander. I use kernel 2.6.18-gentoo-r5. Either it is a problem with my nvidia card or I forgot the activation of a driver etc. in the kernel. Maybe it is a Kernel-Bug. Goodness knows.

Set UNICODE="no" in /etc/rc.conf and see if that doesn't help.
