I prefer ~/.gnome-desktop
I expect all files that have been created by me visibile when I do ls, and extra stuff not created by me visible when I do ls -a. Having the period dot infront of the dir lets me know I didn't create it and its safe for me to remove.
Also having gnome in the name keeps it unique and stops confusion later when someone creating XYZ desktop wants to use .desktop aswell. _________________ a.k.a port001

hmmm... So are your ~/.gnome* and ~/.gconf* directories in your native language?
Really folks... All we are talking about here is a set of standards with the option to be as non-standard as you want. As long as there's an option to change things I'm a happy camper. |
