Hi there,
i just set up a mail server like it is explained in this thread.
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=83500&highlight=exim+spam+clam
After doing all the stuff mentioned in the thread i'm able to send/receive emails to/from local users. It's also possible to receive emails from "world".
Now my Problem:
When try to send an email to a world address i find the following error in the exim_main log and the mail will not arrive:
Code: | ... R=send_to_relay T=remote_smtp defer (-42): authentication required but server did not advertise AUTH support |
Could someone help me, please !! I searched the forum and other resources but didn't find a solution.
with regards

Hi,
could this problem be a result of blocked ports ?!
I'm behind a hardware router an forwarded the smtp, imap, pop and the dns port.
Is there another port wich schould be forwarded in order to fix the problem? |
