I've been trying to get Xorg 7.1.1 up and runnig on my Ultra2 box. This has a suncg6 framebuffer installed. For some reason, when I try to start X11, the text goes blue, and then blank, with a blue blinking cursor at the top right. Here's my xorg.conf, see if you can spot if I'm doing something wrong.
Code:

What does your /var/log/Xorg.0.log have in it? By the way, you should not need the BusID entry in your Device section, and you might try commenting it out.

Once you get an actual visible screen, you might find that your Keyboard definition needs a bit more information; there is a thread here discussing that, or you can look at a couple xorg.conf files at http://dev.gentoo.org/~fmccor/

Sorry for the non-answer, but I don't have any more ideas at this point.
Regards,

When /var/log/Xorg.0.log does not adequately describe the source of the problem, you should check /var/log/messages for the lines that appear as you start X (or do /etc/init.d/xdm start).

Now why didn't I think of that!? Doing that now.

Hmm... /var/log/messages doesn't indicate anything wrong, unfortunately. But I just did a ps ax, and it shows that t here's xterm and xlock processes running so the X server is definitely up and running. There's just nothing on the display, but I can switch to the console and back. How extremely odd.

Any further ideas?
