Does anyone else find it weird that phpBB is masked by ~x86 and package.mask due to "constant security bugs" yet the gentoo forums use it? I'm just curious why it's masked if it is good enough for the gentoo forums. |

Another reason, is that the people masking the package didn't choose the forum software (or start the forum) back in 2001 (IIRC). _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |

We used to run phpBB on a server of ours and it was constantly getting slammed. I was just wondering if you guys made it better. I'm glad you all did. Love the forums. |

Just like with any software as big as phpBB, there are going to be holes that need fixing. If you keep up with it and are active with patching, you won't have problems. I currently run it on 3 sites and have no issues with it, as long as I keep it up to date. _________________ Member of the Gentoo Right Wing Conspiracy |

The problem with our server was the person in charge of phpBB was incompetent. No solution to that. :) |
