|
|
This is a really elementary question, but I can't find an answer anywhere.
Is the MythTV front end designed to be used with a mouse? On some screens my pointer fades in and out (the pointer appears if I move the mouse to a text box; otherwise I have no pointer); on other screens I have no pointer at all. My keyboard works fine. I am wondering if I am supposed to be using just the keyboard (which works fine) or if something is misconfigured here. _________________ Draft Windows-to-Linux Guide

It's not really intended for a mouse no, but rather for a remote control (or I guess wireless keyboard). You're not the first person to ask about it tho. Best place to look for more information would be the mythtv-users mailing list, which you can search here: http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/mythtv/users/ |

0.20 does have mouse (and mouse gesture) support though- I use the mouse support with VNC if I'm changing settings on a remote backend. I can't vouch for the gestures support as I haven't tried it. IIRC, the mouse support was mainly added to assist with touchscreen use. |

One thing to note is that the mouse cursor is hidden- I assusme because it was meant for use with touchscreens. The interface doesn't give much feedback to mouse movements, so the remote may be better anyways. |
