My system currently has X 6.9. When attempting to emerge gnucash, a lot of dependencies were blocked by X 6.9. Doing an emerge -p xorg-x11 also shows a lot of blocks. What's the best way to update X (my system uses Gnome) without actually having to unmerge X?

Thanks! The official guide was what I needed.

Note to others in this situation: the emerge -Ca didn't work for me, but i did a simple emerge --unmerge xorg-x11 and then emerge xorg-x11. Make sure you switch to a new term and kill all X/Gnome/KDE processes first.
