I need to be able to mount/umount cd's and floppies when I'm not logged in as root. What steps need to be taken? I am pretty sure its just a permissions problem, when I try to mount/umount as a normal user it says only root can do that. |

Add the "user" option to the line(s) in /etc/fstab. For example:
/dev/cdroms/cdrom0 /mnt/cdrom iso9660 noauto,ro,user 0 0 |
