I had a question using less - basically, when I pipe less at the end of emerge -p followed by a package, all the output from emerge appears white. I was wondering is there a way to preserve the colours of emerge when piped into less?

Tried to run
Code:
emerge -Dpv world |less -R
and the output was all white. Am I doing something wrong?
