When I run revdep-rebuild, it wants to emerge sys-devel/gcc-4.1.1-r1 every time.

See this Why gcc is always recompiled after revdep-rebuild?

For xmms put -xmms in your /etc/make.conf and run
Code:
for p in $(emerge world -eqp|awk '/xmms/ {print $4}');do emerge -C =$p ;done
Then emerge xmms replacement.

Thank for the help.
I tried the info at https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-512148-start-0-postdays-0-postorder-asc-highlight-revdep+gcc.html , but it didn't seem to help.
Here is an updated revdep-rebuild run since I fixed some of the other things.

Code:
GeorgeNotebook george # rm /root/.revdep* && revdep-rebuild -X -vv -- -av

Hi,

I'm having a similar problem, but with openoffice-2.04. I run revdep-rebuild, and it finds a broken /usr/lib/openoffice/program/libofficebean.so, which requires libjawt.so. This happens even after a fresh system install, right after I install openoffice. And every time I run revdep-rebuild, it always comes up with the same things, and always complaining about libjawt.so. I even tried rebuilding >sun-jdk-1.5, but that didn't help. I can run revdep-rebuild, let it build all the packages it needs, then run revdep-rebuild immediately after the merge completes, and it will still find the same broken libraries.

Anyone know why this is happening with openoffice? Or is this a problem with other packages?

Also, swt-3.2-r2 is doing the same thing. It also requires libjawt.so (broken /usr/lib/libswt-awt-gtk-3232.so).

Thanks.

I had this problem with my old x86 machine and, now, with my amd64. It looks like the problem has been around for a while, though.
