Been running beryl 0.1.1 great...but 0.1.2 fails to compile. Anyone else seeing this, or know why its failing???
I'm running mesa-6.5.1-r1 and 9xxx nvidia drivers. And glproto-1.4.7 like forums have been saying.
Code: | rototypes -Wmissing-prototypes -Wmissing-declarations -Wnested-externs -fno-strict-aliasing -o beryl-xgl main.o privates.o texture.o display.o screen.o window.o event.o paint.o option.o plugin.o readpng.o session.o screen_options.o display_options.o type_mask.o ipcs.o -Wl,--export-dynamic /usr/lib/libpng12.so /usr/lib/libXcomposite.so /usr/lib/libXdamage.so /usr/lib/libXfixes.so /usr/lib/libXrandr.so /usr/lib/libSM.so /usr/lib/libICE.so /usr/lib/libXinerama.so /usr/lib/libstartup-notification-1.so ../mesa/lib/libGL.a -lm

looks like it has something todo with mesa, opengl or xgl or your video card drivers. Try re-emerging mesa and see if that fixes anything. also, revdep-rebuild might come in handy. |

I'm having the same problem too. I've updated mesa as well as tried 6.5.2_pre20061102 (hard masked) both did not solve the problem. Opengl is at 7.0
nVidia driver versions 9625 BETA |

Well, I won't be able to test anything. Looks like I just fried my mobo or cpu. It got pretty hot in my apt and I over heated and poof! Nothing else
Guess I'll have to get a new mobo and/or cpu now. Hope someone else can figure this out too. |

Try to reemerge glibc. Looks like the symbol __stack_chk_fail_local is present starting from version 2.4 |

There's been a few people with this problem. 0.1.2 from Portage won't compile on my system either.
However, the SVN version does. So if you don't feel like waiting 6 hours for glibc to recompile,
Code: |
emerge layman
layman -a xeffects
ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="-*" emerge beryl
|
Not a solution, but an alternative. _________________ ...And then stuff happened. |

would love to use svn so I can get aquamarine, but school is on a proxy so the svn check fails with something (dont remember the exact error) but shows kde and ssl not enabled then match not correct *shrug*
beryl is amazing though =D |
