I'm a little new to Gentoo, so perhaps this problem is simple. I just got an iBook, and not wanting to deal with Mac/Apple I installed Linux. This took a bit of time. I have installed Xorg, and have Gnome + FluxBox(my personal favorite) installed as well. Everything went extremely well.

I had an error with my mouse, but searching the forums I found the answer. BUT still have one major issue. . . When I startx, it loads. It loads with a line accross the center of the screen and two boxes, one on top and one on bottom, of it on the left side. In those little boxes, is Gnome... or a portion of it anyway. What have I done wrong? what do I do now?

It's an iBook, uses the r129 ATI drivers. As far as I can see, in the config it found my video card fine but has NO information about my monitor. There is something I forgot to install/run???

Ok, I found the answer... the answer is I am an idiot. The Xserver wasn't configured completely. I used:
Code:
xorgcfg -textmode

It acted funny durning this, but when it was done, it worked fine. X starts up fine now. It figures I'd stumble into it AFTER I posted... Thanks though.
