Does vesafb support widescreen resolutions, particularily 1680x1050? I am using amd64 and can't use vesafb-tng last I checked, so hopefully this is possible with the original vesafb driver? |

From reading /usr/src/linux/Documentation/fb/vesafb.txt doesn't look like it.
I have a 1680x1050 native resolution LCD also, and using 1280x1024 the framebuffer stills look OK and not stretched out.
(I suppose it depends on the scaling quality of the LCD) |

That's what mine is now, and it looks stretched. It's not ridiculously stretched looking, but i can definately see it. |
