Hi, I'd appreciate your help concerning the following kopete problem:

When I try to start kopete, the green icq-flower spins and spins but does not build up a connection. Occasionally, after about 5 mins it says something like
Quote:
"You have logged in more than once with the same UIN, account <icq-#> is now disconnected"
When I click on that icq-flower my terminal says:
Quote:
"kopete (oscar/icq): WARNING: [ICQ::Presence ICQ::OnlineStatusManager::presenceOf(uint)] No presence exists for internal status 99! Returning Offline"

But kopete lies! I'm not logged in more than once, a connection with gaim to the icq service is instead successful.
Interestingly my contact list gets loaded prior to this error and just before the disconnection message I can see my online buddies for about 2 seconds before they disappear.
Neither recompiling nor cleaning temp-directories solved this problem.

Does any of you have an idea of what's going on?

Seems to be another protocol change at the ICQ servers. Did someony fill a bug report at bugs.kde.org or searched there? Meanwhile you can use licq or centericq, because they work :)

There is a bug-report http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=136566 including a fix.

extract the source tarball of kopete and open client.cpp. Find line 340 and add
Code:
d->ownStatusTask->go();
AFTER the line containing
Code:
initializeStaticTasks();
and compile!
