I want t use Beryl, but i have som problems.

I have follow this guide http://wiki.gentoo-xeffects.org/Beryl#KDE_Users

I missing this file 99kde-env.. I try to merge kde-env but I got this messages

[blocks B ] >=kde-base/kdelibs-3.5.4-r2 (is blocking kde-base/kde-env-3-r4)
[ebuild N ] kde-base/kde-env-3-r4 0 kB

I wonder if ther is some nice little workaround to Use Beryl insted of KWin whithout to unmerge kdelibs and install kde-env?

And launch it from KDM if thats goes.

Thanx

/Emp

Moved from Desktop Environments to Unsupported Software.

[mod]As Beryl is still unsupported software, I've moved this thread to US.[/mod]

Hi.
You can create the file yourself. Next time you log in, KDE will use it.

you don't need to install kde-env you can just create the file 99kde-env. If you look at line ~394 of /usr/kde/3.5/bin/startkde it says in the comments if KDEWM environment variable is set then it'll load whatever instead of kwin. So just nano-w /etc/env.d/99kde-env
Code:

Add
KDEWM=beryl-manager

We need to update the environment so:
env-update; source /etc/profile
