Hi I'm just wondering to support SCSI Emulation for cd burning, I understand that you have to put in hdc=ide-scsi into your grub.conf . But, anyone knows how to do that for lilo.conf? Do I put append="hdc-ide-scsi" into lilo.conf? Or pass that in during boot-time? _________________ Life's happiness is in your hands |

I don t use any option in my grub or lilo.conf to burn cd with my ide burner.
I just compiled necessary modules and made a init script.
be sure to disable ide cdrom support. _________________ every step aim at glory. |

What version? When I run xcdroast I get an error saying that scsi emulation is needed. _________________ Never be afraid to try something new. Remember, amateurs built the

if i remember lilo correctly, yes: add append=" hdc=ide-scsi" to your config.
but, the better way to do it is to disable IDE CDROM support [ ] , and enable SCSI IDE CDROM Emulation [X]. that extra bootprompt that you're talking about is only necessary when the kernel would be confused. if you have ide cdrom support disabled, then it can only use SCSI emulation. this is what you want =)
cheers.. |

are you sure ? it seems odd for me to use a ide burner without ide-scsi emulation.... _________________ every step aim at glory. |

How stable atapi cd burning is? I remember I read somewhere that it's pre alpha but this can be outdated. _________________ Never be afraid to try something new. Remember, amateurs built the
