I tried to remove alsa folllowing the instructions at
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=12955
and it didn't work, so I abandoned and re-installed alsa.
Unfortunately, I seem to have upset my system a bit. I got lots of dependency errors at bootup, and a request to run depscan.sh. When I do I get an error, and I get the same error if I emerge anything:
root@horus:/home/tjs>depscan.sh
* Caching service dependencies...
bash: line 3544: syntax error: unexpected end of file
* Can't find service 'checkroot' needed by 'domainname'; continuing...
* Can't find service 'hostname' needed by 'domainname'; continuing... [ ok ]
root@horus:/home/tjs>
How do I fix this?
Cheers,
Tim. |

Thanks for the idea, but it made no difference.
Any other ideas?
