Hello,
im installing gentoo do do a system as small as possible.
In fact i'm installing all the packages i need and plan to not install anything else further.
So, i would like to remove from the disk, useless things like portage tree or sources wich should nomore be involved in the future.
But i'm no sure : Can i remove the portage tree without braking my gentoo system ?
Can i remove kernel sources ? (i will still be in need of standard c functions, to use with gcc, but i thing its the job of glibc isn't it ?)
I have installed a very few packages and the xfce desktop (to run fast) (with xorg server, thus i should have been using xfree86 to be more fast i guess...)
but the problem is that my system is more than 3 GB large. I would like to reduce it !
If i plan to not install anything more, how can i reduce it to a few hundreds of MB ? Is it possible ? |
