SO:
I tell my box to download something from a website (distfiles.gentoo.org in this case) and it resolves incorrectly to 1.0.0.0
I ping the server, it resolves correctly.
I then repeat step 1, and it works.
I have seen this behavior consistently tieh emerge and gaim. |

On the other hand you could use djbdns, I use it and I have never had anything but good things to say about it. It can act as a lookup server and a caching server.  |
