I recently got crossdev up and working but now emerge --depclean wants to remove the packages crossdev installed. What can I do about this?

I thought about adding the crossdev packages (for example cross-powerpc-unknown-linux-gnu/gcc) to my world file. Is there some reason I shouldn't do this?

Hey, these are not in the world file because the crossdev emerges them with the --oneshot option. The --depclean treats them as the orphans becuse they are installed(/var/db/pk/cross*/gcc) but are not in the system class and the world file.

So you can either put them in the world file or the /etc/portage/profile/packages file(its your choice) but then also don't forget to put them in the file /etc/portage/profile/package.provided file right before your every emerge -e system/world attempt.

greets.

If I added them to my world file, would the get treated properly on an emerge -auDNbktv world?

Please read my previous post very carefully. You can also either wait for some more replies or google.
