Am installing xfce/thunar, fresh install, on x86 platform.

A few days ago I installed gentoo on an amd64, had no difficulties at all, however on my laptop I got as far as gtk+-2.8.19 and this is what I get.

Code:

>>> Emerging (1 of 53) x11-libs/gtk+-2.8.19 to /
* gtk+-2.8.19.tar.bz2 MD5 ;-) ...                                          [ ok ]
* gtk+-2.8.19.tar.bz2 RMD160 ;-) ...                                  [ ok ]
* gtk+-2.8.19.tar.bz2 SHA1 ;-) ...                                        [ ok ]
* gtk+-2.8.19.tar.bz2 SHA256 ;-) ...                                   [ ok ]
* gtk+-2.8.19.tar.bz2 size ;-) ...                                            [ ok ]
* checking ebuild checksums ;-) ...                                     [ !! ]

!!! Digest verification failed:
!!! /usr/portage/x11-libs/gtk+/gtk+-2.8.8.ebuild
!!! Reason: Filesize does not match recorded size
!!! Got: 4109
!!! Expected: 4115

Here's my make.conf
Code:

CFLAGS="-O2 -march=pentium-m -pipe"
CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu"
CXXFLAGS="${CFLAGS}"
ACCEPT-KEYWORDS="~x86"
INPUT_DEVICES="keyboard mouse evdev"
VIDEO_CARDS="nvidia"
MAKEOPTS="-j2"
LANGS="en"
USE="nptl nptlonly toolbar cdparanoia cdr glx exif expat dv dvd dvdr dvdread fam fame nsplugin svg threads truetype truetype-fonts type1 type1-fonts usb lm_sensors logitech-mouse -ffmpeg flac font-server dlloader X Xaw3d acpi firefox gnome truetype -dri -ipv6 tiff dbus hal thumbnail xslt startup-notification gtk gtk2 alsa nvidia acpi avi cdr crypt cups divx4linux encode exif foomatic foomaticdb gd gif gphoto2 gpm jpeg mpeg opengl oss pam pcmcia quicktime sdl xine xmms xv zlib pdflib"

GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://gentoo.mirrors.pair.com/"

The ebuild size was indeed 4109 so I checked the amd box it's size was 4113, again, the wrong size.

Has anyone got a ebuild that is the correct size? Ive thought about just editing the file, but no...

Did I just come back to Gentoo at a bad time?

This sucks, I need my laptop for work tomorrow.

try "emerge --sync again" if that does not help, try another mirror (see the mirror-list at gentoo.org) and compare the file size before downloading. Else wait till the ebuild is fixed. Remember you are runninug the "testing tree". If you have to use your computer for work, either use the ARCH versions and not ~ARCH or learn to get around those errors quickly :wink:
