Hello guys I wondered if anyone of you could be of assistance to me. Whenever I start my gentoo box I get the message
Press I to enter interative mode and again as Gentoo continue to boot I get the message udevd-event[4186]: find_free_numbers:- %e is depracated, will be removed and it's unlikely to work correctly, Dont use it.
And when I shutdown Gentoo I get this message /etc/init.d/halt.sh stop volumes, cannot be found.

Please what can I do to solve this problem? I have never experienced this kind of problem before since I have been using Gentoo. And again none of my chat programs (zinc and curphoo) works .

Thanks in advanced.
Mojam

The udev event is a know bug (there's a whole thread about it somewhere), but it appears there's nothing you can do about it, and it doesn't cause any actual problems. Shame really, it messes up my nice splash screen.

The press I for interactive mode is not your problem either. You can disable it by setting in /etc/conf.d/rc:

Code:
RC_INTERACTIVE="no"

I doubt it will make any difference though. As for your shutdown problems - someone else will need to answer that.
