Hello,
I have a laptop with Radeon Mobility 9600, and after I switched to the new ati-drivers, my X don't want to start if I enable both "glx" and "dri" extensions in xorg.conf:
Code: | Load "dri" # libdri.a
Load "glx" # libglx.a |
startx then fails with this output:
Code: | (EE) AIGLX: Screen 0 is not DRI capable |
If I disable loading of "glx" extension, X starts nicely, but - of course, the GLX extension is not present.
This is most likely some known issue, but I don't remember experiencing it with old ati-drivers, and I've been using xorg's "radeon" driver for a while now. I haven't found anything relevant on forums either.
Thanks in advance for help. _________________ The more you depend on forces outside yourself, the more you are dominated by them.

Hah, that was too easy - I had the Composite extension enabled.
However, after disabling it, I get a different error:
Code: | (EE) AIGLX error: dlopen of /usr/lib/dri/fglrx_dri.so failed (/usr/lib/dri/fglrx_dri.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory)
(EE) AIGLX: reverting to software rendering |
Note that I have installed the new ati-drivers only recently, with no previous version present on the system. _________________ The more you depend on forces outside yourself, the more you are dominated by them. |

There is bug 142584 open for this already, I'll see what happens.
Sorry for the noise. _________________ The more you depend on forces outside yourself, the more you are dominated by them. |
