Can anyone tell me which driver to install alsa with as I am struggling - also which version of alsa they're using - I am getting a bunch of messages about the mods not loading right when i start alsasound...
My lspci output is this for sound:
Code: | 00:06.1 Audio device: nVidia Corporation MCP55 High Definition Audio (rev a2)

Cheers

Hmm - I have the intel8x0 installed and it seems to be working, but alsa is trying to install all the sound modules when it starts.
I have ALSA_CARDS="intel8x0" in my make.conf, but when I start alsasound it tries to load all the modules - most not working... Why does it do that? _________________ How come monosyllabic has five syllables? |

I couldn't get the Intel8x0 working on my nForce 590 SLI, either. Even though alsa loaded the Intel8x0 driver and alsaconf claimed that was the right driver, I never got any sound |

I needed the hda-intel driver to make it work properly - which it is now doing... _________________ How come monosyllabic has five syllables? |
