I have used kgtk in the past. it is a simple wrapper that effectively lets gtk (+ 2) apps look like QT apps, allowing them to blend in with KDE or lightweight desktop whos user uses a lot of QT apps.
i was thinking about how nice it would be to implement a useflag to set up kgtk on all of these applications, so that the end user never needs to do it manually. eg, things would just work.
the purpose of this thread is not to start a gtk vs qt war or gnome vs kde war or full desktop vs lightweight wm vs command line war.
or is there a way to set up kgtk to work with all gtk* apps without the needing the wrapper for each app? _________________ HW problems. It's a VIA thing. |

From it's page on kde-look:
"This is a quick-and-dirty LD_PRELOAD hack that allows *some* Gtk applications to use KDE's file dialogs when run under KDE"
There is no need for a USE flag. You don't have to compile applications differently in order to use it. _________________ What are you, stupid? |

Then forget about, as the Gnome team would simply block it. See e.g. bug 40453 or bug 72901 for comparable requests. _________________ Please make sure that you have searched for an answer to a question after reading all the relevant docs. |
