I have a laptop with an Intel GMA 950 graphics adaptor running successfully with the i810 driver. Though, when I play any videos in Totem, they are much too bright. I didn't find any options in Totem to set the video brightness or something. The display itself is fine, Gnome looks beautiful on it and color+brightness is okay, it's just that only videos are much too bright (it's not the LCD backlight or something). Any ideas? Is there a way to configure this?

Same problem here, in all players I've tried. The only thing I can suggest is that you lower the contrast in Totem. That's the "solution" I have to offer. _________________ Gentoo Hardened Linux 2.6.21 + svorak (Swedish dvorak) |

I have looked but didn't find a way to lower the contrast in Totem - how did you do that? Whats with Xine or MPlayer, don't they have any options to manipulate the video output?

In Totem: Edit/Settings/Display
In mplayer: Use the numeric keys (0 to 9). I think it was 3 and 4 which controlled the contrast. Try for yourself. _________________ Gentoo Hardened Linux 2.6.21 + svorak (Swedish dvorak) |
