Hi there!

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, i just didnt find anything more fitting...

The idea i got is quite simple: in portage, it happens quite often (especially with a fresh system) that in order to install a package a lot of dependencies are pulled it. No problem here, but there are many packages, which require additional actions to be performed by the user/admin. But if you are on a slow system or compile large packages which take a lot of time (kde-stuff for example) you probably wont watch over the process all the time, so many hints given out by the ebuilds (do this, do that, you maybe want to run bla) are just not recognized. IMO it would be very usefull if those messages would be echoed again after the emerge succeeded (for example like 'package blablub: blablablablabla [blank line] package blubblub: ...) or, if it fails, for the packages that succeeded.

Share your thoughts with me :)

Regards
