I've just gone through a problem with baselayout because when I did an "emerge -u world", I didn't read the instructions after baselayout was built. Why? Because these instructions were swamped in lines and lines of compiling and other text output from emerge. I have seen many threads on this forum relating to this problem; which people would not have had if they could easily see the instructions.

Is there a simple way to have all post-merge instructions (eg. after python, run python-updater) logged somewhere? {Aside from just piping all output top some file}

(Or am I just missing something here?)
