OpenOffice.org 2.x (Part Two)

Continued from where [post=3516828]"OpenOffice.org 2.x" left off[/post], as very long threads hurt the forums. Thanks.

howto hack, patch failed, re-configure openoffice build ... and then continue the build
http://geki.ath.cx/index.php/OpenOffice ... fice_build

it is just insane to restart from scratch usually.
ask me for a patch. or what configure flag to tweak. or ...
but, please, do not start from scratch!

Since it's a new thread, I'll re-ask my question:

When trying to build 181, I get a 404 looking for one of the files

Code: Select all

>>> Downloading 'http://go-oo.org/packages/SRC680/ooo-build-src680.181.0.tar.gz'--19:58:21--  http://go-oo.org/packages/SRC680/ooo-build-src680.181.0.tar.gz
           => `/usr/portage/distfiles/ooo-build-src680.181.0.tar.gz'
Resolving go-oo.org... 64.14.94.139
Connecting to go-oo.org|64.14.94.139|:80... connected.
HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 404 Not Found
19:58:25 ERROR 404: Not Found.
Any ideas?

From what I remember, that is the file you need to make yourself by fetching from subversion. Instructions are on the wiki.

Right, I knew that.... *hangs head in shame of his stupidity*

Perhaps putting the Fetchfirst flag on the file with a note saying see instructions on the webpage would stop people like me from forgetting which feet my shoes go on.

Futher information can be found at the end of page 38 and the beginning of page 39 of the old thread.

Yes, it was compiled with the java flag.

edit the ebuild and correct the path to db.jar.
or fix configure via my wiki, openoffice hacking.

upstream got the AMD64 / Blackdown JDK 1.4 java error.
so if that is fixed one can use it?! we will see...

edit
mmh, xml-apis.jar is missing there...

One solution is to revert to db-4.3.29 rather than 4.3.29-r2 as the previous has the jar file in the correct place. At least that is what I had to do to get round the problem.
