Hello,

after upgrading portage I can't do "emerge world"

Code:
emerge -pv world

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating world dependencies -
emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "dev-php/mod_php".
(dependency required by "www-apps/gallery-2.0.4" [ebuild])

!!! Problem resolving dependencies for www-apps/gallery
!!! Depgraph creation failed.

What can I do?

/etc/portage/package.mask is empty

Unmerge mod_php and emerge php (erm, can't remember which one of the two, one should have a newer version).

dev-lang, but I believe that's not longer necessary, since if I remember the post on planet (or was that GWM ?), the old one has been removed from the tree (or only hard-masked?).

Ok, so what's the final answer? Remove php and mod_php and then re-emerge them both? I have this issue on a production server and I need to minimize downtime & possible hiccups. If it's just a matter of reinstalling PHP, no problem.

Hey original poster - did you resolve this issue? Let us know what worked for you. Thanks!

No, you can't reemerge them both, only "php" exists now (and it does the function of both).

Moved from Portage & Programming to Duplicate Threads. You need to upgrade to dev-lang/php, please see this topic: Upgrading PHP on Gentoo.
