I try to emerge php and it says this:
Code: |
localhost / # emerge php
Calculating dependencies ...done!
!!! Error: the dev-php/php-cgi package conflicts with another package.
!!! both can't be installed on the same system together.
!!! Please use 'emerge --pretend' to determine blockers.
|
so I do the pretend:
Code: | localhost / # emerge --pretend php
These are the packages that I would merge, in order:
Calculating dependencies ...done!
[blocks B ] dev-php/php-cgi (is blocking dev-lang/php-5.1.4-r1)
[blocks B ] dev-php/php (is blocking dev-lang/php-5.1.4-r1)
[blocks B ] media-libs/libswf (is blocking dev-lang/php-5.1.4-r1)
[ebuild N ] app-admin/php-toolkit-1.0-r2
[ebuild N ] dev-lang/php-5.1.4-r1

I'm new to this type of thing. I'm used to doing it with Ubuntu so all info would be most helpful.

Do this:
Code: |
emerge -C dev-php/php-cgi
emerge -C dev-php/php
emerge -C media-libs/libswf
emerge -av dev-lang/php |
I think it should resolve the problem. |
