I've got fbsplash configured. I've got
Code:

append="video=vesafb:ywrap,mtrr,1280x1024-32@60 splash=silent,fadein,theme:livecd-2006.0 quiet CONSOLE=/dev/tty1"
initrd=/boot/fbsplash-livecd-2006.0-1280x1024

in my lilo.conf. Also the resolution for vesa-tng in my kernel is specified as 1280x1024@60.

I turn on my Gentoo. Splash screen is visible (frequency - 60Hz). Then I log in as root and execute /etc/init.d/xdm start. X environment also works fine (75Hz, my LCD's frequencies are correctly set in xorg.conf). But now I can't switch back to any of the tty terminals. I see a warning message from my LCD, that the frequency is set to 85Hz, however it is not supported. I can switch to X.
I tried different configurations of lilo.conf, recompiled kernel 3 times, but that's not a problem. The problem is somewhere in X environment.
My question is: How it is possible that after executing X server, the frequency of consoles 1-6 is changed from 60Hz to 85Hz?

The vesafb-tng driver (in kernel config) behaves in a strange way: I specified the 1280x1024@60Hz mode, however, after executing X server, the frequency changed to 85Hz.

The problem can be solved by selecting vesafb driver instead od vesafb-tng. It supports only 60Hz, so the problem doesn't occur. I can switch back to console from X server.
